Bonnie Insley Allison, 78, of Rehoboth Beach, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes. She was born on January 18, 1944 in Marshallton, the daughter of the late Luther and Elaine (George) Insley.

A graduate of Padua Academy and the Wilmington School of Charm and Modeling, Ms Allison also attended Goldey-Beacom Junior College. She began a career with the DuPont Company in clerical and secretarial roles, leaving the workforce to raise her family, the work she would find most fulfilling. Once her children were older, Ms. Allison returned to work as a teacher’s aide at Covenant Church Preschool in Bellefonte and, after several years, found her home at Holy Rosary School as a kindergarten teacher’s aide.

Mrs. Allison had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed bowling, relaxing on the beach, and meeting adults she once raised in kindergarten. Mrs. Allison’s greatest joy has been raising her sons and spending time with her four adoring grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Loved by all who knew her, she will be deeply and sincerely missed.

Mrs. Allison is survived by her beloved husband, Ernest M. Allison of Rehoboth Beach; his sons: Stephen J. Allison and his family of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, and Jonathan P. Allison and his family of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

A Christian burial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 21, at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. The burial will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, stjude.org.
