San Antonio is no stranger to summer heat waves, and reaching dangerous temperatures of over 100 degrees most days seems to be becoming the norm. That leaves little to do outdoors in San Antonians that doesn’t lead to sweating, so doing things indoors might be best if the power stays on.

Take from this self-proclaimed inner king, there’s plenty to do around San Antonio (with or without the kids) while sheltering from the elements. Keep reading for 27 indoor activities in San Antonio when it’s too hot or too rainy outside.

1. This one is easy. Catch a movie at one of the many Santikos cinemas in town. But not this cinema in San Antonio, unfortunately.

6. Maybe novels are more your style. Take a tour of some of the best bookstores in San Antonio.

7. Learn about ocean life without the sunburn and sand at Sea Life San Antonio Aquarium, which is also next door to Legoland. Maybe even visit the aquarium’s first sea turtle.

8. Grab an iced matcha latte while listening to a vinyl record at this new café near the Alamodome.

9. Maybe cocktails and traditional Vietnamese in St. Paul’s Square are more your style. If so, check out Suck It Mixology.
